Matthew 5:14-16
14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot
be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In
the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they
may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in
heaven.
Message: How
different our we from Rome? In what ways has the movement of technology
actually changed the way we see ourselves. Or for that matter,
how we value and perceive others?
Sadly we are expected to suppress our personal beliefs while openly
accepting all those of others. To stand for anything that makes
a Black and White statement has been deemed now to be unacceptable.
There are so many shades of grey that the lines are blurred between
what should be right and wrong.
How many times have the Hero's been portrayed in Post Modern story
lines as having evil tendencies? While the so called Villain's
seemingly have more humanly good traits in comparison? The whole
concept of right and wrong, good and bad, Godly and Evil have
been completely replaced by a bray discoloured apathy of social
acceptance.
What we are truly called to is to stand out. Not hide behind carefully
crafted words. To take a stand. And to be openly a Light unto
the World. Anything less is to make our Faith no more then an
easy Life Style Choice. Like deciding what to watch on TV late
Saturday night. When bored and no longer motivated to think. Yep,
we are meant to stand out as a beacon.
As a light unto the World
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God.
Have mercy on me, a sinner.
I pray that by the power of your precious Holy Spirit,
You will give me the courage to stand as a Light unto the World.
Not standing aside. Nor hiding away, when time's get rough.
For only in your power and strength can I do all things.
Amen
